Since 2007 the Terraformers Canadian Prairie Conservation Foundation has operated a seedbank at our offices in Edmonton. Funding for the seedbank has been provided by the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks & Wildlife Foundation, and our members. The seedbank is a long-term cold-storage facility for storing seeds, with the intent of using these seeds for future environmental rehabilitation within the Canadian Prairie, or for terraforming or para-terraforming projects off-world. The focus of this seedbank is to collect and store seeds native to the Canadian Prairie; however, we do accept seed donations of all types of plants. As this is a cold storage facility, we are limited to storing orthodox seeds, and do not accept donations of recalcitrant seeds.
